David Cates Selected to 2022 Super Lawyers List

The Cates Law Firm, LLC is honored to announce that David Cates has been selected to the 2022 Super Lawyers list.

David has extensive experience in personal injury cases, including class actions and mass torts. He has litigated numerous cases that ended in millions of dollars of awards, including suits against Bayer, Johnson & Johnson, and J.G. Wentworth. David was selected to Rising Stars in 2013 and each consecutive year until 2021. This year is his first addition to the Super Lawyers list. Additionally, he has been recognized as a member of the National Trial Lawyers’ Top 100 Trial Lawyers since 2014.

David earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola University Law School. In 2012, he acquired the Cates Law Firm and formed The Cates Law Firm, LLC. He is admitted to practice law in Illinois and Kentucky, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.

David is a proud member of the Board of Managers for the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, a State Delegate for the American Association of Justice, and a State Coordinator for Illinois for the Public Justice Consumer Advocacy Group. He also is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association, the St. Clair County Bar Association, the Madison County Bar Association, and the East St. Louis Bar Association.
